  Din dosarele ereziologiei: Vestitorii Dimineţii din 1878     Când a venit anul 1878, în comunitatea adventistă a nesabatarienilor numiţi şi "vestitorii dimineţii" (după ziarul cu acelaşi nume) era mare fierbere. Ziarele locale şi cele din apropierea de Pittsburgh - un fief al grupării, urmăreau cu atenţie grupul, care prezise că în acest an va fi Răpirea şi publicase data în revista de elită a sectei, numită Vestitorul Dimineţii. Printre ei era şi tânărul pastor CT Russell, principalul finanţator şi locotenent a liderului de grup, NH Barbour - acesta fiind considerat "un vas ales de Dumnezeu". Ulterior, ziarele din Pittsburgh au raportat că şi el se afla pe podul de pe strada Sixth Street îmbrăcat într-o haină albă în noaptea albă a Memorialului morții lui Hristos, așteptându-se să fie dus la cer împreună cu mulți alții, dar Russell a negat cu vehemenţă.
